Sugar Beach Events opened its doors in 2013, a dream ten years in the making. Chef Lee Anderson’s vision for a premier venue on the beaches of Maui that boasts a full-service kitchen and a bar with an inventory unmatched by any other was realized. That dream turned into Sugar Beach Events, a luxurious events destination on Maui, Hawaii.

With her love for creating memorable experiences and her passion for food and flavor, Lee wanted to create a business that allowed guests to experience the uniqueness of Maui and to enjoy the beauty and heritage of this land. A one-of-a-kind facility built specifically for weddings and events, Sugar Beach Events makes your wedding day or special event an unforgettable experience, where every detail reflects who you are, and what makes you special.

Sugar Beach employs more than thirty dedicated employees and has been highlighted across national and international media outlets, including KITV News, Maui Now, Maui News, and The Bachelorette.

Owner & Executive Chef

Lee Anderson is the Executive Chef and owner of Sugar Beach Events on Maui, Hawaii, an internationally recognized oceanfront catering venue. She arrived on the island of Maui in 2004 joining the management team of the prestigious Wolfgang Puck restaurant, Spago at the Four Seasons Resort. Working with award winning chefs de cuisine, Adam Condon and Cameron Lewark proved inspirational and pushed her to her dream.

In 2007, she launched Aloha Events catering company. It was here that she made a name for herself within the culinary circle and established herself as a leader in the catering community. Aloha Events was a stepping stone to the bigger picture which is now Sugar Beach Events.

Brooke Garces is our leading lady at Sugar Beach Events. With over 10 years of management and event experience, she brings a high-level of attention and confidence to every task. With her gregarious personality and thorough communication, she is eager to make sure your event runs smoothly and is stress free. She has endless enthusiasm and feels a personal responsibility to exceed client expectations. Prior to joining Sugar Beach Events, Brooke led teams at the Maui Tropical Plantation and various event groups in Los Angeles, California.

Courtney Walter

Courtney Walter found her calling to food at an early age. Throughout her career, Courtney has brought a special sophistication to each culinary task, bridging unique Polynesian flavors with international fare. Prior to joining Sugar Beach Events, Chef Courtney held various culinary positions at Hawaii’s finest foodie junctions, establishing her name as one of Maui’s premier chefs. Today, Chef Courtney spearheads the culinary mission at Sugar Beach Events, turning everyday ingredients into unforgettable dishes.

Shannon Doughtery is an accomplished mixologist. Her repertoire includes some of Maui’s top restaurants, resorts and bars. Trained in New York City, her metropolitan sensibilities and passion for elevated drinking experiences gained an island flare when she relocated to Maui in 2018. Shannon’s creativity and knowledge take the Sugar Beach bar experience to the next level.
