Our Story

Sugar Beach Events is an upscale event space on Maui, Hawaii, born from a decade-long dream of Chef Lee Anderson. Opened in 2013, the venue offers a luxurious setting with a full-service kitchen and a bar featuring an unparalleled selection of beverages.

Inspired by her passion for creating unforgettable experiences and her love for Maui's unique flavors, Chef Anderson designed Sugar Beach to showcase the island's beauty and heritage. This one-of-a-kind facility is perfect for weddings and special events, providing a personalized and memorable experience that reflects your individual style.

Since its opening, Sugar Beach Events has gained recognition in national and international media outlets, including KITV News, Maui Now, Maui News, and The Bachelorette.

Owner & Executive Chef

Lee Anderson is the Executive Chef and owner of Sugar Beach Events on Maui, Hawaii, an internationally recognized oceanfront catering venue. She arrived on the island of Maui in 2004 joining the management team of the prestigious Wolfgang Puck restaurant, Spago at the Four Seasons Resort. Working with award winning chefs de cuisine, Adam Condon and Cameron Lewark proved inspirational and pushed her to her dream.

In 2007, she launched Aloha Events catering company. It was here that she made a name for herself within the culinary circle and established herself as a leader in the catering community. Aloha Events was a stepping stone to the bigger picture which is now Sugar Beach Events.

Courtney Walter found her calling to food at an early age. Throughout her career, Courtney has brought a special sophistication to each culinary task, bridging unique Polynesian flavors with international fare. Prior to joining Sugar Beach Events, Chef Courtney held various culinary positions at Hawaii’s finest foodie junctions, establishing her name as one of Maui’s premier chefs. Today, Chef Courtney spearheads the culinary mission at Sugar Beach Events, turning everyday ingredients into unforgettable dishes.
